Modena Italy: Permits of Stay to be issued in 45 days

Ministry of Home Affairs assigns more officers to Immigrations Offices in the Province of Modena

Ministry of Home Affairs is to carry out a pilot project in Modena, trying to issue Permits of Stay within 45 days. The ministry has in fact assigned five more officers to the Immigrations Offices in the Province of Modena for this purpose.

Two of these officers will be assigned to Modena while the remaining three will be assigned to police stations in Carpi, Mirandola and Sassuolo.

The project will be implemented from July.

Some seven workers will also be involved in the project, from the City Council of Modena, main associations and cooperatives working in the city and in the province, and the Chamber of Commerce. They’ll have the duty of providing maximum information to users in order to reduce queues at the immigrations office and allow the police officers to concentrate on the processing of the permits. These workers have undergone special training for this purpose.
