Killers suspected he had stolen biscuits from their bar
Two Italians have been arrested for an attack that led to the death of Abdul Salam Guibre, 19, an Italian citizen originally from Burkina Faso.
Abdul was beaten to death on 14th September in Milan for allegedly stealing biscuits from a bar.
Abdul with two other African friends, reportedly went to the bar owned by Fausto 51, and his son Daniele Cristofoli, 31, very early in the morning.
According to the bar owners, the three boys grabbed some biscuits and left without paying. Convinced that the boys had also stolen some money, the father and son then boarded their mobile kiosk to follow them.
After initial insults, the two groups began fighting. Abdul’s group picked up a stick while Fausto and Daniele used an iron bar and a stick.
Abdul was reportedly bashed with an iron bar on different parts of the body and the head.
All the attempts to save his life at the Fatebenefratelli hospital were fruitless. He died in the afternoon. “Adbul was a simple boy, who grew up in a normal family. His family came to Italy when he was still a baby. He was social and extrovert,” his friends said.
"Abba", as he was known to his friends, did his high school education in Gorgonzola (Milan).
He loved music, dancing and having fan in general. Last summer he decided to abandon his studies and work occasionally as a mechanic.
It took the police a shot time to identify and arrest the owners of the mobile kiosk who had attacked Abdul since his friends had noted down their number plate.
The police didn’t find the packet of biscuit which the bar owners claimed the boys had stolen.
Abdul’s friends who were questioned by the police talked of racist insults during the attack.
The Public prosecutor Roberta Brera has for now said she doesn’t think the attack was racially motivated.
Politicians from different parties have condemned the attack and killing of Abdul.
